Bagel Joy originated in 2020 when David and Caleb Picard began experimenting with recipes for authentic hand-rolled and boiled bagels. Their Centreville and Fredericksburg kitchens were quickly overwhelmed with bagels as free test batches found their way to neighbors. The idea was simple: share the Joy by donating time or hours to a local food bank in exchange for fresh bagels.
2021 began with Bagel Joy making their first sales, offering neighborhood pick-up and selling at the One Loudoun farmers’ market. Their presence in the DMV continued to expand with appearances in Fairfax, Great Falls, Manassas, Brambleton, and Washington DC.
In 2024, Bagel Joy took a major leap forward by renovating the former Bagel Buddies location in Fair Lakes. After three years of working for the weekends (literally), Bagel Joy has settled down with a focus on offering the best breakfast service around!
Bagel Joy continues to grow and seek improvement. With new sandwiches, sides, and offerings, Bagel Joy strives to stick to its roots. Sourcing ingredients from local farmers, butchers, and businesses, Bagel Joy focuses on using quality ingredients and removing artificial flavors, colors, and fillers.
